FPS Limiter Universal: Stabilize the performance of your games
This news is destined for those people who wants to cap the Fps (frames per second) in PC games.

I saw in a lot of sites, peoples asking for a "universal" fps cap that works in any game. So i came here to show you a program that will do it for you, and im not talking about the "FPSLimiter" that some of you know about.
I used FPSLimiter for a long time, but as you know it has some limitations. It can't be used in all games and dont support dx10 and 11.

Searching on google for a better program than Fraps to record videos some months ago, i found a program called Dxtory and for my surprise it have what i was searching for so many time in a program. A Fps cap function that works in all PC games and support all directx versions and opengl.

Now i will show you how to do this:

1st- Download the program: DxTory
2nd- Download Net Framework 4.0 (needed): Net Framework 4.0

Open the program and go to the tab like on the pic below:
Obs: This program is not Free, so everytime you open it you have to wait a 10sec countdown and the click in "Experience the Trial".

Now select the number of cores of ur CPU in "Processing Threads". If you dont know exactly, select the max available.

To limit the frames simply check the option "Limit FPS Video"and enter the value you want the game to get limited.

Some important details:

From now on, whenever you start a game, the program automatically detects the game and limit the frames for the value you selected by default. For each game you start, a new Profile will be created to it at the top of the program where you can select different values for each game independently.

Another detail is that you need to keep the program open for the limiter function works, so you just need to click on Minimize and start your game from the shortcut on the desktop or wherever you prefer.

If you want to monitor frames or remove them from the screen, just go to the tab shown in the following figure:

To do it, select the "FPS Video"option and in the black screen below select the position you want and click to mark it. To remove, uncheck the same option and click "Disable" on black screen.

Tips for the limiter value:

If you dont know what the best value to limit your game, here are some tips:

- Try to place a value based on the minimum frame your game runs. Ex: If it runs at an average of 45fps and 30fps minimum, select the value 30 to limit the game, so you do not have problems with the swings of 30 to 45.

- Some games have an effect called Motion Blur, which makes the screen a bit blurred when you shake the camera giving an effect of trail, or racing games at high speed to give effect of a higher speed. Depending on the value that you limit the game, you create an even more pronounced effect of Blur, leaving the game with movie aspect.
Ex: The game GRID and 45fps in Need for Speed: Shift at 30fps.

- Regardless of the game, I recommend you limit to 30fps, cause besides a smooth gameplay, you will be saving your hardware and avoiding possible heat issues.

Known Bug

When you start the program for the first time, you must configure it to your like (important), start any game, quit the game and the program and start the program again or it will not save your personal config and you will have to configure everything again.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and quite enjoy the program.
I při fyzickém hraní.
