I totally agree with your philosophy! It's hard to justify the enterprise disk prices sometimes. Building redundancy with standard SSDs and RAID is a smart approach. It's all about balancing cost and risk. Plus, mixing brands is a great point – diversifying can definitely mitigate potential firmware issues.
