Ok, I have a Samsung SCX-4623F laser printer scanner with the problem door open close it. After trying many things I finally figured out the problem. There is a switch on the circuit board like the micro switches in a microwave oven. It has a metal lever which is pushed down by the front cover when it is closed. I tested this switch with my meter and it seemed to be OK, but later testing showed it was not working correctly when pushing the lever slightly to one side or the other. I removed this switch from the circuit board and replaced it with a jumper wire across the middle hole and the one closest to the middle hole on the circuit board. The other hole was left open. It is now working the only thing is the machine thinks the front cover is always closed so make sure to close it before using the machine. To get the circuit board out first take off the rear cover which is held on by 5 screws. Take off the front cover and also remove the paper tray and toner cartridge. Front cover comes off by slightly bending the bottom edges by hand. Then remove both side covers, they snap off but are a little fiddly to remove. You will now see the metal tray holding the circuit board. Remove all screws holding this about 10. Lay the machine on its side with the exhaust cooling fan up. Unplug the cooling fans two wire connector. Unplug the connector to the fuser. This is also two wires but you will have to push in on the connector while pulling on the wire to release it. Now tilt the circuit board assembly out and reach in and unplug the main ribbon wire connector. Now you can remove this whole assembly. Take out all screws on circuit board and 2 on the plug to remove the board from the metal case. The switch is on one corner of the board. Unsolder the 3 points on the switch and remove it and either get a new switch and replace it or solder a jumper between the two closest holes on the circuit board to bypass the switch. Put it all back together and see if that fixed it. It fixed mine. Good luck.
